  High-Speed Hyperspectral Inspection System
  The Challenge:
Despite advances in high-speed imaging technologies, solutions have been limited to applications using greyscale or RGB cameras in the visible light range. In many cases, industry and researchers could benefit by imaging objects hyperspectrally, exposing things we can't see with a standard camera or our eyes.

The Solution:
The ImSpector Fast10, a new member in the family of ImSpector imaging spectrographs, now makes spectral imaging possible at rates up 1500 images per second. This new high-throughput imaging spectrograph provides high light throughput, superior image quality and good spectral resolution. This instrument covers the full visible and near infrared spectrum of 400 to 1000 nm over a narrow dimension, allowing short read out times. Maximum light intensity on the camera pixels allow for short integration times, and high speed acquisition is available in many low cost industrial CCD and CMOS cameras.

The Difference It Made:
Spectral imaging provides a significant additional dimension that enables objects to be defined by multiple wavelengths in order to differentiate between items that are otherwise visually identical. Thanks to the ImSpector Fast10, spectral imaging can now be used for high-speed industrial applications such as online colour sorting, wood inspection or fruit and vegetable inspection. Spectral imaging also takes airborne hyperspectral imaging to new speed levels.
